This table is one of my favorites - it is crafted entirely of Texas Live Oak from a tree that I harvested several years ago, sawed on my mill and dried in my kiln. The design is Mission/Arts and Crafts; the wood is a mix of quartersawn and cross-grain sawn, which reveals much of the complex grain pattern of Live Oak and a very nice pattern of oak ray flecks on the table top.

This piece is of a nice size to use as an occasional or entry-way table. It stands just under 28 inches tall and is 22 inches in diameter. The legs are pierced with decorative slots that end in crisp holes at the top and bottom. The thru-tenons that pierce the legs and support the shelf are of the loose-tenon type.

All surfaces are carefully sanded and the edges are rounded over. It has been sealed and finished with several coats of of glossy Minwax Polyurethane.
