My turned wood pieces listed here such as bowls, vases, goblets, plates, platters and the occasional "artistic" pieces are for immediate sale if you are interested. Please note that each piece is unique - they are not produced in quantity. Our system is not set-up such that you can simply "click on the item", "select a quantity", place it in a "shopping cart" and "proceed to check-out", and expect it to be shipped to you! If you do like something that I have made, then I am afraid that you have to put a bit more effort into it! The procedure is for you to contact me via email or telephone. I (or my wife if I am away) will confirm that the piece is still available, provide you with a shipping cost, and arrange payment.

In most instances (when we are able to keep up with things), those pieces that have already sold are marked as such, so you can enquire with some confidence. Some of the pieces are left up on the website as examples of what I have done in the past and am willing to make again in the future. However, as I previously said - each of these turnings is unique in form, wood and character so I cannot truly duplicate a previous piece, but I can come close if the wood is available.

Also, when buying a wood piece over the internet there are a few things to keep in mind:
1) Size is deceptive in the pictures - it is a good idea to look around your home and find an object of similar dimensions to give a good idea of the final size.
2) Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of wood. These photos are not retouched with software programs to make them look better, but even if they were, the depth of color, grain and texture of the wood would be lost in the photo. I suspect that the reality will be a pleasant surprise.
3) The net is visual and two-dimensional; wood is tactile and three-dimensional – you will not really appreciate what you have until you hold it in your hand. For example, a vase in glass on the coffee table may draw positive marks from visitors, but if it is of wood, they will want to pick it up and caress it.

Ordering of Spinning Wheels, Rocking Horses and Occasional Furniture

Most of my "flatwork" is by special order, especially the larger pieces such as spinning wheels and rocking horses. In general, those pieces displayed on this website are either prototypes completed to gain experience in a new design or special order pieces which have already been delivered. They are included as examples of my recent experience - pieces that I can produce in a reasonable time frame and at a reasonable price. If you would like something similar to what is shown, please contact me and we will discuss the design, and selection of materials and finishes.

Payment

On pieces that are in stock, the cost plus shipping and handling can be covered in one payment.

On special orders, payment is expected to be in two stages: 1) an initial down payment when your order is placed, to cover the cost of materials and design, and 2) a final payment to be made once the piece is completed and ready to ship.

We use PayPal for online billing, and once we have agreed on an order, we will e-mail an invoice through PayPal. Customers anywhere in the world may use this safe and secure method of payment.

While PayPal payments are most efficient, we will also accept payment by check or money order. Checks will be held for approximately 10 days; your piece will be shipped once the check has cleared.

Delivery Information

Our woodwork pieces are carefully packaged to protect them during shipment, but we cannot be held responsible for damage that may occur in transit. We strongly recommend shipping insurance - a small additional cost.

We generally ship by FedEx within the United States. International shipping will be by any reasonable carrier. We will bill based on actual shipping costs, plus a reasonable packaging/handling fee. We will discuss shipping methods and approximate costs before you place your order.
